College Sainte Marie Reine Kabgayi Shines at Idebate Rwanda KDL Advanced Competition in Kigali
Kigali Debate League (KDL), Rwanda, February 8, 2025 in Glory Academy – The debate spirit was high as College Sainte Marie Reine Kabgayiparticipated in the Idebate Rwanda Competition held at Glory Secondary School in Kigali. The tournament, which brought together top above 90 debating teams from competent schools across the country. That’s why College Sainte Marie Reine Kabgayi sent three competitive teams of 9 debaters, accompanied by two dedicated Patrons and 6 observers from beginner debaters.
After a warm welcome from the hosts, the competition officially commenced, and the College Sainte Marie Reine teams engaged in intellectually stimulating debates against strong opponents.
For The first round the teams faced against: Hope Haven, RIVIERA High School and GS Marie Mercie KIBEHO. During this Tournament College Sainte Marie Reine Kabgayi Students provided arguments Full of critical thinking, analysis equipped with statistical data that enhanced some groups to take debates as follow:
Results: Team 3 took the debate against GS Marie Merci Kibeho, other teams weren’t a complete success.
The second round the teams faced against different Schools Which are: Excella High school, Sainte Bernadette Save And Riverra high school.
Results: Team 1 Took the debate against Excella High School, other teams weren’t a complete success.
The third group debated against Riviera, showing resilience and teamwork.
Results: Team1 took the debate against Kivu hills academy and team 3 also took the debate against new life Christian academy whereas team 2 wasn’t a complete success.
To sum up: Team 3 and team 1 took 2/3 debate each whereas team 2 got challenged in all rounds.
The competition served as a great platform for students to sharpen their public speaking, critical thinking, and argumentation skills. College Sainte Marie Reine proved its debating prowess, leaving a mark in this prestigious event.
The school remains committed to nurturing young debaters, ensuring they continue to shine on national and international platforms.
